My homeschool blog with lessons as we do them.

Many of you know about how Annie, my 4th grader, had a spontaneous brain bleed when she was in the 2nd grade. We were told that because of the location of the bleed, she might have difficulty in math. It is amazing how doctors can tell this, but it turned out to be true.

Before the bleed, Annie was learning multiplication and adding and subtracting with no issues. After the bleed, I gave Annie a double-digit subtraction worksheet. She had been doing 3 and 4 columns before the bleed. She tried, but ended up in tears. We were back to doing single-digit addition. But we didn't give up and kept trying.

I discovered that Annie's biggest issue was remembering how to handle each type of problem, so I started a math journal for her. This was an immense help for her! It explains how to add, how to subtract, how to carry and how to borrow. I continue to add to it as she learns more.

I am utterly amazed at how much this journal helped her. I am using it to teach my other homeschool children. I'm offering the Addition section for free here:

Addition Pages for Math Journal

If you like it, and want to get the other sections, they are only $1.00 for subtraction, decimals, multiplication, division, decimals, and percents. Plus tip sections.

I'll send it in PDF format, so you can print as many copies as you might need, whether you're a homeschool mom or a teacher with a class full of students.

Order a PDF version of the Math Journal for only $1.00
